ok. i did some research on (a) design inspired by forms of life and (b) forms from nature.so this is what i found above.

The esplanade was inspired by the shape of durian and its outlook. And the Merlion is basically inspired by a lion's head and a body of a fish. And lastly, the metal structure was inspired by Bamboos in Japan.
